Focusing on meaning making, expressive arts therapy goes beyond words to support trauma processing, self-esteem and efficacy, and identity development. In addition to expressive arts therapy, I also offer holistic talk therapy with a focus on mindfulness.
My approach is informed by my degree in expressive arts therapy and mental health counseling from Lesley University, and my advanced training in the treatment of traumatic stress. I specialize in supporting people with healing from trauma, anxiety and chronic illness. I have a direct style, and am goal oriented.
Are you ready to make a change in your life?
Therapy services:
I offer tele-health (virtual video conference) sessions to clients throughout the state of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Sessions run 45 minutes to 1 hour long and are conducted on a HIPPA compliant website which you can access for free. Before we meet you will get an invite with a link to a secure meeting space via Zoom. Having wifi and access to a smartphone or computer with webcam is required. You may also wish to use headphones for increased privacy. Many insurance plans cover tele-health if you have questions about your plan you can reach out to them directly or contact me for support with this. With the current need for social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic, most plans are covering virtual visits. Contact your insurer for more information.
Services for adults and couples: I provide support for adults managing life transitions. I am LGBTQ affirming and oriented in social and environmental justice. I take a trauma-informed and strengths based approach, meeting you where you are at on your journey. Our work may center on symptom management, identity development (or parts work), and attachment/ relational style.
I also work with couples looking to increase their understanding of each other and find healthy relational styles that suit their family.
Services for families: I work alongside children and families to support emotion regulation (self-soothing), affect identification (feeling words), and competency (skill building). My treatment is tailored to individual needs and can include; art, music, movement, creative writing, play, and sand play as means for exploring feelings, and building a greater sense of self awareness and control. Art and play in therapy supports children from a developmentally appropriate place; meeting them where they are at. It also gives the child and family the ability to explore their viewpoints and work to understand the 'why' behind the 'what'. Behaviors are most often signals of underlying feelings and beliefs that can be explored thoroughly in the safe and open container of therapy..
